ASUS ZenFestival 2015 at Chijmes, Singapore [ASUS ZenFone Selfie Review]

When I received the invite for the ASUS ZenFestival 2015 at Chijmes, I knew that it is certainly an event that I can’t miss as they would be announcing their flagship model, the ZenFone Selfie, alongside the ZenFone Go and the ZenFone 2 Laser.

The key thing that I was looking forward to was definitely the highly-raved ASUS ZenFone Selfie. Many of you would know that I was in Taiwan for quite some time. ASUS, being Taiwan’s tech giant, is a brand that I have always wanted to check out.

Happy to finally get my hands on an ASUS product. 🙂

Here’s a rundown of what happened at the ASUS ZenFestival 2015.  6Invited guests had the opportunity to experience the 2 latest models, the ZenFone 2 Laser series and the ZenFone Go.

The ZenFone 2 Laser is engineered with a 13MP PixelMaster camera and rear laser auto-focus as quick as 0.2 sec for near-instant clarity. It also comes in the latest Corning® Gorilla® Glass 4 for unrivalled scratch-resistance and durability.

The ZenFone Go is equipped with a 5-inch HD IPS screen and MediaTek MT6580 Quad-Core High-Speed processor plus a superior battery life with a 2,070 mAh removable battery.

And now, here’s the ZenFone Selfie.

As the name suggests, the ZenFone Selfie helps you capture the most flattering selfies.
9.1Its front-facing PixelMaster camera has a huge 13MP resolution and an 88-degree wide-angle lens. The unique Selfie Panorama mode also enables selfies with an outlook of up to 140 degrees, for a large field of view with every shot. Furthermore, the rear camera features a large f/2.0 aperture lens for superior low-light shots. 9 10

The most amazing thing is that the ZenFone Selfie also includes the brilliant ZenUI Beautification mode for instant photo editing. This means that you do not need to use another photo editing software to beautify your skin, enhance your features or to slim your face.

1112Just take a look at my selfie below.
1314Can you tell that the beautification mode also helped me put on some coral shade blusher? Who needs makeup when there is such a selfie camera?

We also decided to try out how wide-angled the camera is and it turns out that there is more than enough space to squeeze people in for a wefie. No one needs long hands with such a selfie camera. 🙂

[Note: A more detailed review on the ASUS ZenFone Selfie will be coming soon.]

After trying out the phones, the event officially started with a presentation on the 3 smartphones by ASUS’ Corporate Vice President Mr Benson Lin.#ASUSZenFestivalSG at Chijmes Hall on 14 Oct 2015

There was also a special appearance by local celebrity Michelle Chong (Left Profile artiste).

And, there was another special appearance by the mascot from Taiwan, Zenny. As you can tell, Zenny is an owl with a cute lightning bolt symbol on its belly.17

Some funny moments here where 5 invited guests took part in a selfie competition using the ASUS ZenFone Selfie.

Days after the event has ended, I still clearly remembered what Mr Benson Lin said at the event — “with this camera, you will be the most popular person” and the part where he quipped “don’t worry, you will still look like you”. 🙂

That said, I will be trying out the ASUS ZenFone Selfie over the next two weeks and will keep you updated on all my selfies (posted on Follow My Wanders Facebook Page). Stay tuned!

Lastly, thank you ASUS Singapore and Originally US for the invitation! Visit the ASUS website for more product information. 🙂
