DIY Natural Handmade Soap at Soap Ministry, Liang Court [Part Two]

[Note: This post is a continuation of the previous post on Basic Soap Making Workshop at the Soap Ministry.]

Thanks to Soap Ministry, I had an chance to “advance” my skills in soap making. In this post, I will be sharing with you the super fun intermediate workshop that I have attended. Really enjoyed myself and I can’t wait to go back again! ❤

I love Soap Ministry for its (1) natural ingredients used for soap making that is safe for sensitive and eczema-prone skin –  you can also make natural breast milk soap over here (2) wonderful environment – it is located at the basement of Orchard Central and it has a new branch at Pioneer Point (Located at 5 Soon Lee Street, #01-55). [Note: Soap Ministry has shifted to a bigger outlet in Liang Court. Full address is listed below.]

soap making workshop brochureAt this intermediate class, you will be able to learn different soap making techniques such as basic coating, snow coating, detail work and soap within soap. Let me show you the soaps you can make from each of the above techniques.

Basic Coating

IMG_1310This coating technique involves a few steps of pouring in and out of the soap base before you derive at the end product. The creation that you get from this might just blow you away. I love my sunflowers! ❤

Snow Coating

Made a sweet pink rose using the snow coating technique.

Soap Within Soap

This soap-making technique creates really posh-looking soaps. It will certainly be great as gifts!

You will have to start with the inner design first (i.e. complete the rose) before creating the outer layer.

As you can see in the photos below, I created the red rose first before pouring in the transparent soap base around the solidified red rose.

Tadaa! Another proud creation over here. ❤

Detail Work (or Detailing Work)

As there was some time left, I was taught how to do detail work, using the soap mold of a little gun. In case you are wondering, the black powder that you see below to create the color of the gun is Charcoal Powder. So super healthy and choked with benefits. 🙂

soap ministry soap gun 1There is a reason why this is called Detail Work as you need to make this gun layer by layer, with the help of an ice cream stick. Don’t fret if you get it wrong as the guru is always there to help.

Done within 20 minutes. I must say, this is a pretty decent replica right? making a gun 8

And we started having fun playing with this proud creation.
