[Food Review] Celebrating Valentine’s Day with European Food Cuisine at Ambush, Plaza Singapura

This is the 7th Valentine’s Day that Jj and I are celebrating together as a couple. It is so hard to imagine that we have met for 8 years and been together for 7 years. How time flies! 🙂

This year, we celebrated Valentine’s Day at Plaza Singapura (PS) as Jj wanted to catch a movie after dinner and PS is the most convenient location for us.

We collected our complimentary tickets at Golden Village for the movie Robocop and then proceeded to find a proper restaurant.

Our rule of thumb is to always try something new. There are so many restaurants in Singapore that I am sure you can dine out at different places every day and not complete your local dining experience within a year! 🙂

So after walking around PS’s new extension, we decided on this restaurant called AMBUSH. Ambush brands itself as a place for “fast, casual European dining”. Of course, the prices are pretty decent too.

This restaurant offers a wide variety of choices like pasta, paella, german sausages etc. I am sure you would be able to find something you would want to try out!ambush 006ambush 011ambush 012

Here’s what we ordered. We really enjoyed the food over here. It is value for money. You can add $5.50 to complete a meal and it comes with a soft drink of your choice and a soup of the day.

The Minestrone soup comes with a generous serving of veggies.

My order – Norwegian Salmon Fillet in Thai Basil Sauce. This is highly recommended! I love the sweetness and spiciness of the sauce. It is only $13.20.

Jj’s order – Chicken Shnitzel (Chicken chop with fries). This dish is $17.50.

As we went on a Monday evening, there were relatively lesser people so we were able to enjoy some quiet moments over there. 🙂

Thanks Jj for the great dinner and for being such a wonderful companion these 7 years! Happy Valentine’s Day! ❤

P.S.: We saw this banner when we walked out. Thought it might be nice to share. Weekday set lunches from $10.90 with complimentary soup and drink at Ambush.

What’s so good: Decent European food at decent prices

What’s not so good: Nil. Even the service was pretty good. The staff were very attentive. One of them even offered to help us take a picture. Thank you! 🙂

If you are keen to give it a try~
