Oecussi, East Timor Part 2

After arriving at Oecussi, we decided to get a mini van to send us to our hotel, which was around 20 minutes drive from the harbour. It was a bumpy ride as the roads were not smooth at all. Nonetheless, we reached our destination safely.

This was where we stayed.

It is apparently operated by Chinese but they have been there for so long that they can’t speak Mandarin at all. When we reached, they showed us around the “hotel”. Honestly speaking, it was pretty rundown. For one of the nights, we even had to bathe with muddy water due to the faulty water tank.

External view of one of the hotel rooms. They were definitely clean but the insects will gradually make their way into the rooms.

There isn’t any other option there for tourists, except to stay in this hotel. It does not come cheap too (It understands that it is a monopoly.) The cost per room per day is around 30-70USD, depending on the number of guests and the size of the room.
